Game Day 2.0 - Redefined

The Game Day 2.0 meeting was an amazing, fun filled, entertaining and educational meeting where we had to lock horns with each other after dividing into two teams. Initially we had the Chain of Command game followed by a dual aspect game of facing a quiz while balancing a ball on a piece of wood and finished off with a fun bluff pictography game.

All in all it was an eventful session where each and every member had an amazing experience. I am hopeful and sure we will have many more meetings matching up and even leveling up on the experience and enjoyment.

You'll Never Walk Alone

Themed meetings play a major role to motivate, educate and connect with the members. organising and hosting a themed meeting requires a lot commitment and hardwork.

The themed meeting “You’ll Never Walk Alone” hosted by our very own Immediate Past Division Director and Charter President of Awakening Toastmasters DTM Muhammed Sheikh Ahmed, and Co Hosted by our very own Area Director TM Muhammed Saeed was indeed phenomenal. When we entered the Meeting it was decorated with Liverpool F.C T-shirts, Logos and Fan collectibles. This amused many of us since most of the Awakeners were diehard Liverpool F.C fans.

During the meeting the host and the co-host brought out the Liverpool F.C Dressing Room atmosphere amongst members in shedding some facts and figures about the club which included motivational thoughts related to the Club’s history and how they as a team overcame all the challenges to win the English Premier League after 30 years.

It was a very entertaining, educative and energetic session for which a very big Thank You needs to be extended to the hosts DTM Muhammed Sheikh Ahmed and Area Director Muhammed Saeed. I’m sure all those who were present on that day will never forget the “You’ll Never Walk Alone” themed meeting.

Red Vs Blue - Season 6

The most awaited annual club event Red Vs Blue Team Challenge was held on the 19th of January 2020. It was an event held for the 6th consecutive year with the participation of many Toastmasters from the fraternity. This unique event was hosted by our Charter President DTM Muhammed Sheikh Ahmed, who has pioneered in creating and presenting this special event to the Toastmasters fraternity.

Among many, 2 of the clubs past Presidents were seated as panel of judges.

Team Red were able to convince the crowd and win the challenge, crowing them as the champions of the Red vs Blue Team Challenge Season 6. At the end of the day, the event may have concluded, but all the excitement, enjoyment and memories created at this one of a kind event will linger on, as the battle continues with a new season of Challenges.

Back to School

“BACK TO SCHOOL” themed meeting was organized by the VP Education TM Shadrin Safwan along with the Toastmaster of the day TM Hisham Azeez ‘aka’ Headmaster for the day.

The role players assigned their duties as the school staff and meeting began sharp at 9:30 AM as the Headmaster was very much concerned on the punctuality of the students. Students who were late had to speak on the table topics for the day. The head master also made it a point to check the kids school attire, the best school attire was from TM Nazeel Mustafa who was praised by the Headmaster.

The first lesson for the day the Geography lesson was conducted by the TM Muhammed Saeed ‘aka’ the Geography master, the lesson was conducted brilliantly and yes some students really surprised everyone with their confusion over capitals of countries.

The speech projects were done by TM Safwan Hussain and TM Rizwan Ali and had their projects evaluated by their respective teachers. Moving the Table Topics were done by DTM Muhammed Sheik Ahmed ‘aka’ English Literature professor, the topics were related to the theme and the fact that most latecomers who are the traditional “back benchers” of the class had to speak made it a humorous session.

Overall the event was a big success and most Awakeners were able to have nostalgic moments of their school memories.
